Time for some saccharine creampuff filler, devoid of mentally nutritious substance, presented solely for idle enjoyment.
These are other pictures I took while checking out the fire.
These flowers are having a banner year. They’re all over the woods.
These flowers with a name I don’t recall and am too lazy to look up in a plant book are also having their best bloom in years.
That’s all I got. I was planning to head on off to the ‘game room’ to engage in a little gender ambiguous play chasing after the evil sorceress Edea since I finally whupped Cerberus the three-headed hell-dog last night, but it’s taken so long to format the dang pictures and text in this post that I might just hang out here and recuperate by vegging on the internet for another hour.
The calories may be empty, but the flars are beeyootiful. I can’t believe you don’t know the name of a local wildflar! What is the name of that guy who wrote the book on flars? Three names–one is Roger?
The cactus you posted awhile back may be an echinocereus–I’d have to see more than the bloom to be sure, and even then I’d be guessing.
As you can see, arm is better today. But I won’t push it yet.
PS: Need to know: will I need sheets? towels? a table or other surface on which to work?
Hm! I’ll research answers to your house questions and get back to you. Glad the arm’s better! I’ll try to post a ‘full frontal’ of the pink cactus for you also. And, ok…I’m shamed in to hunting up the right plant book in order to learn that the little white puffball bushes are called Fendler’s Buckbrush. Now whyever would that name have escaped my memory? I also learned in passing that American hops, from which beer is made, is a part of the Cannabis family. T’is a fine family indeed.
The bird guy is Roger Tory Peterson! I remembered his name a few minutes after I logged off. As my 82 year old sis sez, it takes a few minutes for the loop to close.
Fendler’s Buckbrush–a name to remember indeed.
Well duh. Why didn’t we grok the relatedness of hops and cannibis back in the day? Probably because we were too stoned.
Thanks for checking on the house things.
